Thanks for the suggestion. We're already tracking this in https://github.com/openai/codex/issues/6060 and https://github.com/openai/codex/issues/4242. Please upvote one or both of these.

The Codex app is built on top of the Codex CLI, so any improvements we make in the CLI will also benefit the App.

@etraut-openai Thanks. The CLI already works for me using env vars such as HTTP_PROXY. The app, however, does not.

I can confirm that running

export ALL_PROXY=http://127.0.0.1:2080 all_proxy=http://127.0.0.1:2080 http_proxy=http://127.0.0.1:2080 https_proxy=http://127.0.0.1:2080 HTTP_PROXY=http://127.0.0.1:2080 HTTPS_PROXY=http://127.0.0.1:2080 npm_config_proxy=http://127.0.0.1:2080 npm_config_https_proxy=http://127.0.0.1:2080 /Applications/Codex.app/Contents/MacOS/Codex

seems to work.
