I can't offer you a specific release date, but Windows support is a high priority for the Codex team. The app was designed to be cross-platform, so porting it to Windows is relatively straightforward.

While you're waiting for the Codex App, The Codex CLI and IDE Extension are available for use on Windows.

+1 for native Windows Codex App support.

@TheDarkSkyXD I made a temporary Windows solution for people who want to try the desktop app early: https://github.com/friuns/codex-app-for-windows.
What it does technically: it takes the current macOS Electron app package, unpacks app.asar, keeps the JS app code as-is, replaces platform-native pieces with Windows-compatible ones (better-sqlite3 binary + node-pty rebuild), patches renderer process expectations, and launches with the matching Electron version.
It’s not an official build, but in practice it works as a stopgap while waiting for native Windows support.
