Codex cli keep resets to gpt-5.2-codex meduim

What issue are you seeing?

Codex CLI keeps resetting to GPT-5.2-Codex (Medium) whenever I launch the CLI. I thought it would stay on whatever I last used (High or XHigh), but it defaults back to Medium.

I’m not sure what triggers this bug—maybe using codex resume, but I’m not certain.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

This bug doesn’t happen every time—only sometimes. I’m not sure why, but it happened to me twice in a single day.

What is the expected behavior?

The model I last selected should be the one I always see when I launch the CLI.
