Codex is virtually unusable due to constant connection drops

What steps can reproduce the bug?

I'm getting

    ⚠️  Connection closed prematurely while waiting for the model. Please try again.

in virtually every codex session, making any sort of task impossible to accomplish, regardless of the model or version.

What is the expected behavior?

It doesn't drop, or at least it reconnects on its own and recovers from networking errors.
Just in case, retrying the prompts by hand also causes the connection drops, time and time again.
