What issue are you seeing?

When I switch between tabs in the Codex desktop app, the conversation/progress view sometimes jumps to the top of the thread instead of staying at the latest progress near the bottom.

This is intermittent but frequent enough to interrupt workflow, because I have to manually scroll down again to find the newest output.

Expected behavior:

  • When returning to a tab, preserve the previous scroll position; or
  • Auto-focus on the latest progress/output at the bottom.

Actual behavior:

  • Sometimes the tab opens at/near the top of the thread after switching back.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. Open a Codex tab with a long conversation or long-running task output.
  2. Scroll to the bottom so the latest progress is visible.
  3. Switch to another tab.
  4. Switch back to the original tab.
  5. Observe: sometimes the view is positioned near the top instead of the latest bottom content.

Frequency: Intermittent (not 100% reproducible), but happens regularly during normal use.
Workaround: Manually scroll to the bottom each time.
Impact: Medium to high (breaks flow and makes it easy to miss latest progress).

What is the expected behavior?
