Codex VS Code extension stopped working after being prompted to download the mac codex app

What I've tried

✅ Delete ~/.codex/auth.json to trigger a re-auth
✅ Re-install the extension
✅ Switch to release version
✅ Deleted the codex mac app

Chatgpt works as expected

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Everything worked yesterday until I was prompted in the extension to download the codex mac app, I then did, followed the installation instructions and then I got the above error in the mac app, I then switched back to vs code and saw the same error, and its been like this since that.

What is the expected behavior?

Answer the questions, modify files.
