macOS app consumes 99% of CPU even when idle on a M4 Max - App completely broken
What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
Version 260208.1016 (571)
What subscription do you have?
Pro
What issue are you seeing?
Immediately upon startup and until the app is closed, the Codex mac app consumes near 100% of the CPU.
It is consistent, and the only required step is to open the app, functionally rendering it unusable. The app barely responds when opened, I haven't explored much beyond this as my laptop heats up quick with the app open.
Tried rebooting, closing all other apps, with no change in behaviour.
The hardware is a Macbook with macOS Sequoia version 15.7.3, M4 Max, 64gb of memory. Attached screenshot of the process.

What steps can reproduce the bug?
Open the app on my hardware
What is the expected behavior?
Not consuming 99% of CPU usage even while idle.
Additional information
I sent in a trace after opening the app. Could not find any additional way to report beyond this.
The issue was not present last week, so it seems to have been introduced as part of a recent update.

As far as I can tell not a duplicate. This requires no actions to reproduce besides opening the app.

We think that we've addressed most of the performance issues in the latest release. Please give it a try. I'm going to close this thread. If you still see additional performance issues, please open a new bug report with repro steps. This will help us isolate any remaining issues.
