One-click “Add Open Editors” to Codex chat context (like Copilot)

What variant of Codex are you using?

Vscode IDE Extension

What feature would you like to see?

GitHub Copilot’s chat UX makes this easier: a single “Add Context” action can quickly attach relevant editor context (e.g., open editors) without manually typing each file.

Requested feature

Add a single-click (and command-palette) action to attach all currently open editors to the current Codex thread as context.

Proposed UX

  • In the Codex chat UI, extend the existing add context “@” flow with an option:
  • Open Editors → attaches all open files (tabs) to the thread
