For some reason Codex continues to say that it's going to continue building, but just stops and says, Okay, I'm going to finish the project and will not continue building. No matter how many times I try. Happens in the app and in the CLI.

If you see this again, please use the
/feedbackcommand to upload your logs and session details, then post your thread ID here. I can take a look at it to see if there's anything suspicious.In the meantime, look in your config.toml to see if you have any non-default config settings. If you see any config settings that you don't think should be there, comment them out.

Yeah, you're hitting the same issue that several other users have hit. The reasoning level passed to the model is null. I'm guessing that you have a bad configuration value. In particular, make sure you don't have
model_supports_reasoning_summaries = false.Fixed it, thanks! I had stray model and model_reasoning_effort keys inside an [mcp_servers.pencil] block in my config.toml. Removed them and everything's working now.
