What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

0.5.75

What subscription do you have?

Plus

What platform is your computer?

WSL

What issue are you seeing?

Thread ID: 019c59a0-6ade-7f63-b4f2-862d0ace6d45

Earlier this week I had no issues, but after switching to WSL, Codex has been running extremely slow. I verified I am not being rerouted to codex-5.2 using the script here. I also have the cyber verification completed.

In one instance, it took 3 and a half minutes for it to start reading files (on extra high effort). Normally it would be quite fast even in extra high, the longest delay I saw was around 30 seconds in the past, maybe a minute, but usually it reads quite a lot before thinking that long. In this case that was before it did _anything_.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. Open a VSCode WSL session
  2. Use Codex
  3. Observe slowness

What is the expected behavior?

Not be slow

I only have the thread ID Codex gave me: thread ID: 019c59a0-6ade-7f63-b4f2-862d0ace6d45

Is there a way I can get you more information? I'd be happy to paste it in here.

@JamesIV4, are you still seeing this behavior? I looked at your logs, and they don't appear to cover the time when this session was active. I looked at the session details, and I see some responses that take appear to take multiple seconds, but without corresponding logs, it's tough to investigate further. If you're able to repro the problem again, please use /feedback after you see the problem and post the thread ID here.

I've already hit my Plus rate limit, so I can't test it. I don't want to waste it testing either, since it's so easy to hit. It seems like the Windows side is working better this week (patching issues must have been fixed).
