What variant of Codex are you using?
App
What feature would you like to see?
Codex is already connected to OpenAI servers, as is the ChatGPT phone app. It would be quite useful if, when enabled, codex permission requests and task completion notifications were sent to the mobile app to take actions from. Even better would be to also let the user send messages back.
I know there is an event hooks feature request already being tracked but this is specifically about showing them in the chatgpt app.

Would be great if slash commands and ! are supported.
It can save users so much time, and it should be easy to implement.
While waiting for official ChatGPT app integration, here's a Telegram-based alternative that works now:
Turn local Codex sessions on macOS into a Telegram control surface you can actually use from your phone.
https://github.com/Asuka-wx/codex-telegram-bridge
One-line positioning:
Keep your existing ssh + tmux + Codex workflow, and use Telegram only as the remote layer for status, approvals, and follow-up input.
Why It Matters
No workflow rewrite: keep using local tmux + Codex instead of switching to a browser dashboard or remote desktop
Actually remote-usable: not just logs, but approvals, interrupts, and follow-up input
Clear multi-task control: one control topic plus task-specific topics for parallel work
Phone-friendly by design: useful when you are away from your machine but still need to keep work moving
Lower setup friction: one-command installer plus launchd service support
Same itch — wanting Codex permission prompts and completion pings on my phone instead of being back at the laptop. I looked at the Telegram approach but went with a dedicated mobile app so I'd get APNs push for tool approvals, see file diffs inline, and not have to manage another bot account.
The project is CodeVibe — hooks into Codex CLI (and Claude Code, Gemini CLI) and streams the session to iOS / Android. Tool approvals, follow-up prompts, and assistant responses all flow through; sessions are end-to-end encrypted between your machines.

@Asuka-wx your bridge looks well-designed — different tradeoff (no extra app install + works on infra you already have, vs. native push + diffs). Curious how OAuth-bound Codex sessions surface through Telegram on your end.
the "even better would be to let the user send messages back" line is the important half, @hendryyeh's right that one-way pings only get you so far, you want to reply and unblock the session from the phone.
while the chatgpt-app integration doesnt exist, repowire does the bidirectional version now via telegram/slack: codex permission prompts and turn-end notifications push to your phone, and a reply routes back into the session. its the same itch as @Asuka-wx's telegram bridge but built as a mesh peer, so it survives process restarts (sticky routing to a peer identity rather than a pinned terminal) and the same setup covers claude/gemini sessions too.
not the in-chatgpt-app experience youre asking for, but the notify + reply-from-phone loop works today.
