What variant of Codex are you using?

CLI

What feature would you like to see?

I would love to be able to add thread to the status line. I have multiple tabs open in my terminal with Codexes and they all live in the same directory in the same branch, however they are meant for different features so I need to memoize what is what. It would be great to have just a glimpse look into the status line to understand what this tab is about.

Additional information

If it's not on your rodmap already and there's way I can add this -> let me know -> I figure out how to add it.

Related broader proposal: a custom statusline widget API could subsume thread-name and similar airline/statusline requests cleanly. I just opened #14043 for that direction.

If you are using tmux, you can add the current session name in the statusbar (of tmux), which is a nice workaround, I find.

That is much needed in my opinion.

For anyone looking for a quick answer, inside the codex CLI:

/statusline
  • arrow down/up to find [ ] thread-title
  • Spacebar to enable [X] thread-title
  • arrow left/right to change location
  • Enter to confirm
