Hmm, very strange. From your description, it sounds like there may be two different accounts involved.
After restarting the app, please use the
/feedbackcommand in a new thread. That will upload your logs so we can look at them. Post the thread ID here.A few additional things to verify:
Ahhhhh Chrome saved account was different to the one i used for my pro account - doh! Used the correct account and it works
I'm seeing the same issue, submitted feedback with thread id
019d91de-ac65-7003-bccc-37f84692c376- using same account in chrome and in codex.Edit: After an hour or so it started working.
Hi, same here. Apparently new credits were bought but I still have the block up to the 25 may (!). In ChatGPT web and ChatGPT app I do not see any usage-limit warning. The issue appears only in Codex. I have already logged out and in again (with my company account) using the same method (google) in the Codex app. Submitted feedback with thread id no-active-thread-019e3ef0-3e04-7721-817b-e0ffef248dcf.
Codex works perfectly for me, the menu within the VSCode extension shows me I have 99% of usage left. Same in the Codex CLI. I only use 1 account.
.. And still I'm seeing this huge div in my Codex extension that tells me I'm out of Codex messages.
Business account user (currently version
26.5513.21555 but has been like this for weeks). I am unable to get rid of this, it's super annoying. Things work fine otherwise.

Getting this on my screen as well, though everything is working fine, looks like a bug

Could this please be prioritised for a fix?
I have had this message persistently displayed in the Codex app for the past week. I initially assumed it would disappear once the weekly usage cycle reset, but it has now renewed for another week and the message is still present.
Even if the message were accurate and I had genuinely run out of Codex tokens, why was this banner designed without any ability to dismiss it? There are still other parts of the app that remain usable even when Codex usage is limited, so forcing a persistent, non-dismissible message into the UI creates a poor experience.
As it stands, this feels like a dark UX pattern: a permanent “upgrade” prompt that cannot be cleared, despite the user having an active Plus subscription and despite the app still offering functionality outside the exhausted quota. It would be much better if the message were either fixed, made dismissible, or scoped only to the areas of the app where the limitation actually applies.
More broadly, I’d strongly encourage the product team to avoid pushing these kinds of non-dismissible prompts onto engineering teams. They undermine trust in the product and make legitimate usage-limit messaging feel like advertising rather than useful state feedback.

The bug is still happening with ChatGPT for Business. Especially when setting limits. We have a full amount and this popup will not go away for the whole team.

Looks like its a major bug and Codex itself is failing to fix it😂

I'm experiencing this too. It started happening when I migrated my account to a workspace account.
