I would like to be able to scroll through the transcript and similarly to how you can edit a message (e), choose to fork a new conversation from the selected message (f), without mutating the current thread.

/forkslash command.It does fork from a specific message, but it also effectively truncates the remainder of the original conversation (everything after the fork point is no longer part of that thread).
What I’m looking for is the same “fork from here” behavior, but triggered from a point in the transcript (e.g., via Ctrl+T) without modifying or truncating the original conversation.

If I want to fork from Message 2:
Desired behavior:
Original conversation (unchanged):
Forked conversation (new thread):
In other words: create a new branch starting at a chosen transcript point, while keeping the source thread intact.
Found an old upvoted comment also asking for the same here.
Yes, I think we need a interface like OpenCode's. When use /fork, user can select which message to fork. It is more convenient.
Currently,
I fork the current thread, and go to new created thread, then back to the message I need.
Backtrack/edit now forks without mutating the source thread.
