Codex VSCode extension is repeatedy displaying ads anytime a keyword is used. Even when the ad is dismissed by close button, it will reappear in the next VSCode session. This happens even on paid account such as Plus. This is absolutely unacceptable as it is extremely distracting and adds an infuriating chore of stopping writing the prompt and having to click close button in the middle of transferring the the train of though into the prompt box.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. Open the prompt box
  2. Type "try to use linear interpolation"
  3. An ad to install Linear MCP pops up above the prompt box, even on paid accounts

What is the expected behavior?

Codex shows NO ADS
