as a work-around, click "Log out" and then "Sign in with Github Copilot". Codex extension version 26.304.20706

Same issue here.

  • Extension: 26.304.20706 (latest stable)
  • IDE: VS Code
  • Platform: Windows 11 (not WSL)
  • Subscription: Plus

Running Codex: New Codex Agent opens an editor tab but shows "Conversation not found" (multiple error toasts).

Workaround: start a conversation in the Codex Sidebar first, then open the Copilot chat sessions panel in the Secondary Side Bar, click on the Codex session from there — it then opens correctly as an editor tab.

Also affects #11727.

It seems to be fixed in the VSCode extension 26.5323.20928 (pre-release).
