What issue are you seeing?
Since you're likely reporting a technical issue or discussing this with support, I’ve translated your text into clear, professional English. I’ve categorized the data to make the "usage drain" issue easy for a developer or support agent to understand.
English Translation
"Since the beginning of March, I have been experiencing a very rapid depletion of my 5-hour and weekly usage limits. I conducted a test by creating a simple HTML file (5,991 characters) and instructing the agent to delete a single word.
When using the Windows CLI, the remaining context only dropped from 100% to 99% (which is normal). However, when checking the Website Usage Meter, the usage decreased significantly. Below are the details per agent:
Agent 5.2: Usage dropped by 6%
Token usage: total=3,657 | input=3,448 (+ 5,376 cached) | output=209 (reasoning 127)
Agent 5.3 Codex: Usage dropped by 7%
Token usage: total=25,021 | input=24,092 (+ 31,616 cached) | output=929 (reasoning 108)
Agent 5.2 Codex: Usage dropped by 8%
Token usage: total=37,498 | input=36,463 (+ 75,136 cached) | output=1,035 (reasoning 448)
Agent 5.1 Codex: Usage dropped by 11%
Token usage: total=7,159 | input=6,772 (+ 36,608 cached) | output=387 (reasoning 64)
Additionally, usage on WSL agents is 2-5% higher than on the Windows CLI. I have already attempted a clean reinstallation and a full reset, but as of March 3rd, the results remain the same."
What steps can reproduce the bug?
normal, only edit html like usualy

Same here!
I used it for the first time after Codex reset the quota, and in the first prompt, it already consumed 8% of the daily quota and 3% of the weekly quota. There's definitely something very wrong; as a Pro user, this wasn't happening before.

Same issue, from 100% 5hrs usage to 80% and weekly drainage went from 96% -> 88% (pro). This is lower than what claude max 20 at lower cost gives.
taggin @etraut-openai for explanation.
The bug seems to be related to the new version; after rolling back to version 0.105, everything became normal for me but i'm not 100% sure
Rolling back to earlier versions did not make any change for me - burn rate still seem like 5 to 10 times faster than it did a week ago.
We've identified and fixed the issue. It was causing the 2X promotional increase in limits to not be applied for an estimated 9% of plus and pro users. We have now fixed this issue and are reseting the rate limit for all plus and pro users to compensate for the trouble. Thank you all for reporting.
My weekly limits were reset today or yesterday and suddenly my usage consumes quota much faster. Could there be an issue with your fix, @etraut-openai ? Is there any guide on how to check if the quota metering is correct?
@etraut-openai apologies, this is not fixed. I for one never experienced this but perhaps after the _fix_ I'm seeing excessive drainage on a Pro account with 10% weekly consumed since this morning (was reset to 100%) and my 5 hours quota is at 84% in under an hour. I've never managed to get my 5hour quota below 90% even in normal usage.
@gmnstr another open issue: https://github.com/openai/codex/issues/13317
have to say this is not resolved as well - having crazy high usage on a business/team account, 2 planning prompts on 5.4 high, with fast off, utilized by entire 5 hour window in under 30m work, no parallel agents called.
Hello,
In your recent update, you said the issue had been fixed and that the rate limits for all Plus and Pro users had been reset to make up for the inconvenience. However, no reset appears to have been applied to my account.
I am also not fully convinced that the issue has actually been resolved in my case. I still have only about 10% of my weekly quota left, even though it will reset in 3 days. Under normal circumstances, I never come close to using up my weekly quota, so this makes me think the problem may still be affecting my account.
Could you please check my account and confirm why the rate limit reset was not applied, and whether the issue has in fact been fully resolved for me?
