Option to Refuse Code Changes and Query Reason/Intent for(of) Amendment

Resolved 💬 5 comments Opened Mar 7, 2026 by craigmorissette Closed Apr 11, 2026

What variant of Codex are you using?

CLI

What feature would you like to see?

Codex should allow the user to refuse the changes and immediately return the reason or intent for said changes. Option would be indexed to No 2. in options to select after prompted with, "Would you like to make this changes"

For example:

  1. Yes, apply the code changes
  2. No, explain code intent
  3. No, keep the current code

*in another request, I've also requested that code changes be hard printed to conversation history instead of being disposed of/ hidden from future reflection.
