Codex CLI works normally on my Mac, but Codex Desktop App hangs on every new thread.

What I already verified:

Successful CLI login and normal CLI usage
Opened the app from a clean folder: /Users/feiwang/codex-test
Removed an accidentally initialized Git repo at my home directory (~/.git moved away)
The home directory is no longer a Git repo
App still hangs after opening from a clean workspace
.codex cache size is moderate (~220 MB total; sessions ~58 MB; archived_sessions ~51 MB)

Observed earlier:

repeated ab.chatgpt.com fetch failures
UI timeout / worker exited symptoms
skills / recommended-skills conflicts in logs

Device:

macOS Apple Silicon
Codex CLI version: 0.111.0

I accidentally pasted the command instead of the output.

Confirming on macOS 26.5, Desktop 26.602.30954: CLI works, desktop app hangs on every new thread.

Pinpointed in the app-server log DB: each thread/start logs WARN unknown feature key in config: thread_tools, then no turn events follow. thread_tools is not implemented in stable 0.137.0, bundled 0.137.0-alpha.4, or npm alpha 0.138.0-alpha.4 (string-checked all three), so the CODEX_CLI_PATH workaround from #13709 doesn't help — every available app-server rejects the feature the 26.602 client sends.

CLI is healthy (codex exec returns, codex doctor 0 fail). Appears to be a client/app-server version mismatch where the desktop client is ahead of any published server.
