What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

Version 26.305.950 (863)

What subscription do you have?

Pro

What platform is your computer?

macOS: Darwin 25.3.0 arm64 arm

What issue are you seeing?

Previous versions of the Codex App on macOS used to auto-focus the terminal when pressing command+j.

With the latest version focus goes nowhere. When I already have my hands on the keyboard and use the shortcut, I'm now forced to find the window with the mouse and click before I can continue typing (or hit tab 13 times).

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  • Make sure the prompt input has keyboard focus and terminal is closed.
  • Hit command+j.
  • Observe that the terminal doesn't receive keyboard focus.

What is the expected behavior?

When terminal isn't visible, command+j opens the terminal with keyboard focus.

Additional information

Thank you for making this app. It's a(nother) game-changer.
