What feature would you like to see?

Summary

OpenAI’s current help documentation lists the Codex app as available on macOS and Windows, but not Linux.
I validated a Linux desktop/runtime path for the Codex app on RHEL 9.7 x86_64 and wanted to share the engineering results in case Linux app support is on the roadmap.

Why this matters

• Linux is a common developer platform
• Codex already ships Linux CLI binaries
• The missing piece appears to be Linux desktop/app support rather than Linux support in general

Environment

• OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.7
• Arch: x86_64
• Surface tested: Codex app / desktop-style workflow
• Account/auth: standard ChatGPT sign-in flow
• Settings: default product behavior

What I validated

• app launches successfully on Linux
• core agent workflow is functional
• terminal/worktree flow works
• basic navigation/session behavior works

What changed at a high level

• Linux-oriented packaging/runtime adjustments
• platform-specific launcher/open-target handling
• dependency/build fixes needed for Linux
