VS Code plugin sends prompt mulitple times

What issue are you seeing?
Pressing enter or clicking send prompt sometimes does not send the prompt. clicking a second time will cause the prompt to send 3-4 times over the course of the next 30 seconds contaminating the chat session.
What steps can reproduce the bug?

What is the expected behavior?
Prompt should send only once.
