UX Inconsitency of Codex App in comparison to ChatGPT while voice input
What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
Version 26.305.950 (863)
What subscription do you have?
Plus
What platform is your computer?
Darwin 25.3.0 arm64 arm
What issue are you seeing?
Codex App behave differently than Chat GPT while use voice input.
In ChatGPT Desktop - When you click a Mic icon it start recording, then after dictation when you click Send button it pastes the text in the input field and wait you click send again to really send it to a chat.
In CodexApp - When you click a Mic icon it start recording, then after dictation when you click Send button it paste the text in the input field... and instantly sends it to a chat. To keep tex in input filed with no instant send you have to click stop (btw similar like in mobile ChatGPT version).
From my view
a) this is inobvious that click Stop while voice dictation it still do the recognition/transcription and not simply stop recording.
b) this behaviors is inconsistent with ChatCPT and due past habit of voice input in ChatGPT Desktop it causes that during recording in Codex App I click twice to Send ( same as in chatGPT) and simply stop prompt processing.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Do the voice dictation in both application as I described in the issue above and spot the difference.
What is the expected behavior?
a) All similar buttons behavior in Codex App and ChatGPT should be consistent.
b) Make more obvious difference in between of action cancelling record and stop record, get text, but do not send.
