Why do I need to provide biometric data via Persona to use Codex?

codex-cli 0.2.0
Which model were you using?
tried multiple
What platform is your computer?
Darwin 24.5.0 arm64 arm
What steps can reproduce the bug?
install codex, login (successful, personal). run simple project review prompt:
Error about organization validation - Personal Org/Default Project.
Go to validation, click on validate, goes to persona.
I dont have a problem validating using github, keybase or any number of verification tools, I draw the line at providing biometric data.
So what gives? The Claude onboarding ux is so much smoother.

I have the same question. I will not give my personal data just to use the tool. Claude and gemini, let's go!
I can't believe they CHARGE money, before letting you know you need to use biometrics.
I presume this issue is no longer relevant, so I'm going to close it. If you have related questions, feel free to post to the discussion forum. Or feel free to open new issues if you think you're seeing a bug.
Why did the issue cease to be relevant?
Because the problem is still there. I had just to submit an ID check on Persona to use the codex cli, while I can use the openAI API from python without such problem...
