Unread status removed after app restart

What issue are you seeing?

All threads that are unread are mark as read after restarting the app.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

1. mark a thread unread
2. restart the app
3. the thread is no longer unread

What is the expected behavior?

1. the thread is still unread

Additional information

This breaks workflows and makes me hold off app updates.
