Desktop App may be overcharging Codex credits

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.311.21342

What subscription do you have?

Plus

What platform is your computer?

Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.26200.0 x64

What issue are you seeing?

Hi,

After I started using the Codex App, Codex credit usage appears to have jumped abnormally.

From the usage chart, I spent more credits in the last 4 days (from 11th to 14th - Codex App) than in the previous 7 days (4th to 10th - VSCode's Codex Extension), which does not match my expected usage pattern. This makes me suspect a bug in credit accounting, double-counting, or incorrect attribution to the Codex App.

Actual

Codex App usage seems to correspond with a disproportionate increase in charged credits.

thanks a lot.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Suspected sequence

  1. Use VSCode's Codex Extension
  2. Use Codex App
  3. Credit usage jumps sharply in the last 4 days

What is the expected behavior?

Credits should track actual usage consistently across clients.

Additional information

I dont use any MCP, my AGENTS.md are 80 lines long tops, and I'm a solo dev, with small to medium size repos.
