Hard to copy / paste codex responses since upgrade
What version of Codex is running?
codex-cli 0.3.0
Which model were you using?
codex-mini-latest
What platform is your computer?
Darwin 24.4.0 x86_64 i386
What steps can reproduce the bug?
I may want to copy paste some of the responses I get back from codex (like explanations) and I do this fairly often sometimes to go and explore further in ChatGPT for example, or to "persist it" to a text file for future reference, however since the upgrade, now I have to change the mouse mode which is kind of annoying, and even worse when I select the text it also selects the ASCII square edges so I have to then clean it up manually and I would prefer if this process was more streamlined.
What is the expected behavior?
Select text + CTRL C + Paste = Just text
What do you see instead?
Something like this...
│This is by design (primitive adapters always expose a single "value" ││
│output), but it does mean that if you ever add an adapter with a single ││
│primitive output under a different port name, the inference will silently ││
│return null. Again, likely fine for your core adapters, but worth noting.││
│ ││
│## Summary
Additional information
I'm using VSCode Terminal with zsh.

Same issue - I enjoyed the previous version and tried to roll back but now all my prompts need to be entered in command line on launch. Model, approvals are all config files now? Is that true? Last codex version with / commands was way better. What can we do here? roll back
See https://github.com/openai/codex/issues/1247
Thanks, I see that this is already in the radar.
I was able to find the version I use on another server. I rolled back to that for now and it's working better. Love responses and codex. Keep it up open ai!
Issue on Mac as well. I get the impression that support from OpenAI is ChatGPT.
same on Ubuntu 24.04
@ehzawad Can you please file a new issue if this is still the case and include a version number? The original issue was filed against Codex
0.3.0and the current version of Codex is0.46.0today, which is a wildly different application at this point.
