Adding line numbers from different files as input context is supported. Select the desired range and use the "Codex: Add to Codex Thread" command. This command doesn't have a keybinding assigned to it by default, but you can add one.
If the tool cannot quickly and precisely pinpoint specific lines across different files—and instead relies solely on matching code snippets—it becomes very easy for redundancies to creep into the project. Consequently, the AI-generated code often suffers from "hallucinations" and may even modify the wrong files. I hope to see functionality similar to that of Copilot or Cursor, which facilitates the seamless provision of contextual information.
