This is a regression of #11016, which was previously closed as resolved. After updating to Version 26.323.20928 (1173) today (March 25, 2026), the exact same silent crash issue has reappeared.

What issue are you seeing?
The Codex desktop app crashes silently during task execution on MacBook Pro (M2 Pro), identical behavior to #11016:
- Silent crash: The app disappears completely without triggering macOS's standard application crash dialog
- Random timing: Crashes occur in the middle of task execution, not at a consistent point
- Cannot complete tasks: The issue prevents finishing any task successfully
System Information
- Model: MacBook Pro 14-inch, 2023
- Chip: Apple M2 Pro
- Memory: 16 GB
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Codex desktop app on MacBook Pro (M2 Pro, 16GB RAM)
- Start any task (e.g., code generation, file editing, project analysis)
- Continue working on the task for a random amount of time
- App crashes silently without warning - the window simply disappears
- No macOS crash dialog appears
- Attempting to restart and continue the task results in the same crash
What is the expected behavior?
The Codex app should remain stable and continue running during task execution without any crashes, as it was working before today's update.
Additional Information
This crash was previously fixed and the issue #11016 was closed on February 21, 2026. The problem has now regressed in version 26.323.20928 (1173) released today. The behavior is identical to what was originally reported in #11016.

While waiting for a fix, could anyone share a download link to a previous stable version of the Codex app (before this regression was introduced)? The current version 26.323.20928 (1173) is completely unusable due to the silent crash issue. A working older build would be greatly appreciated to keep the workflow going. Thanks!
the exact same problem It has only been a few days since this started. I am using a MacBook Pro m3 Pro, and the Codex app disappears on its own without any warning. I absolutely cannot work.
