[Bug] Mic toggle shortcut does not work when Korean input mode is active
What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
Version 26.324.21641 (1228)
What subscription do you have?
Pro
What platform is your computer?
Darwin 25.3.0 arm64 arm
What issue are you seeing?
When the macOS input source is set to Korean, the mic toggle shortcut does not work in Codex Desktop.
The same shortcut works normally when the input source is set to English, so this seems related to Korean IME/input handling rather than the keyboard hardware itself.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open Codex Desktop.
- Switch the macOS input source to Korean.
- Press the mic toggle shortcut (
Ctrl+M). - Observe that the microphone does not activate.
Expected behavior:
The mic toggle shortcut should work regardless of whether the current macOS input source is Korean or English.
Actual behavior:
The shortcut does not trigger the microphone when Korean input mode is active.
There is no visible error message.
Workaround:
Switch the input source to English, then press the shortcut.
Additional note:
This issue appears to be caused by Korean input mode/IME intercepting or preventing the shortcut from being handled correctly by the app.
What steps can reproduce the bug?
The bug happens when using the mic toggle shortcut while the macOS input source is set to Korean.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open Codex Desktop.
- Focus the input box.
- Switch the macOS input source to Korean.
- Press the mic toggle shortcut (
Ctrl+M). - Observe that the microphone does not activate.
Control case:
- Switch the macOS input source back to English.
- Press the same shortcut (
Ctrl+M). - The microphone activates normally.
What is the expected behavior?
The mic toggle shortcut should work consistently regardless of whether the current macOS input source is Korean or English.
Changing the input language should not prevent the app from receiving or handling the shortcut.
Additional information
