Add support for WezTerm and custom terminal selection in Codex (macOS)

Resolved 💬 1 comment Opened Mar 30, 2026 by phongndo Closed Mar 30, 2026

What variant of Codex are you using?

App

What feature would you like to see?

Currently, Codex only supports launching sessions in Ghostty and the default macOS Terminal. This limits workflows for users who rely on alternative terminals like WezTerm for performance, customization, or multiplexing.

It would be valuable to support:

  • WezTerm as a first-class terminal option
  • A generalized mechanism for selecting or configuring the terminal emulator
