Frustrated with arbitrary weekly limit resets
I just experienced a rate limit reset where my limit was changed from 60% remaining (until April 3) to 100% (until April 8).
I plan my Codex usage around these weekly cycles and adjust how I interact with the app accordingly. For instance, early in the period, I adjust my configurations to keep usage predictable and tight: I turn off sub-agents, dial down parameters like tool_output_token_limit, model_context_window, and model_auto_compact_token_limit, and disable "fast mode." I operate at a daily surplus during this time.
I defer a queue of tasks that I know will burn through usage quickly, such as auto-research loops, batch work with agent swarms, and fast-mode sessions. Later in the week, I loosen my configs and let Codex go ham on those tasks.
These unexpected resets destroy my surplus; in this instance, I went from being able to use 160% of a weekly limit over a seven-day period to just 100%. This is the third or fourth time this has happened, and I am certain I’m not the only one affected.
Usage limit resets always come out of nowhere and punish everyone but the profligate. If they're meant to be gifts to users, then they should be top ups, not resets. Resets should not change the end date of individual usage periods. At the very least, users should have the ability to opt out of resets entirely.

Same issue with me. My weekly usage was scheduled to reset here in a few hours, so yesterday I left a few unattended prompts running to chew through the last 20% I had left. I checked again this morning, and this reset caused my unattended prompts to chew through the newly reset usage, as a result, I only have 80% of this weeks allowance. It’s really hard to look at this as a positive or anything other than having that 20% (or really 40%) of the weekly usage taken away, and considering that I pay for that usage, it feels like I am swindled.
I’d have no issue if it was additive, meaning I had 120% of usage instead. The problem with resetting a window means that I’m not getting that lost usage allowance back, and there’s no other remediation or compensation. Either way, resetting the weekly counter is not a valid fix. I had usage left, and it was taken away, which forced me to eat into the new allowance unexpectedly. Not happy.

I am currently on the highest-tier Pro account, and I have never before consumed more than 45% of my weekly limits-not even when using the 5.5 model in high-speed mode with high reasoning settings. However, starting last week, my limits have been plummeting to zero at an alarming rate; I buy an additional 1,000 credits, and they are gone within a single day. It feels as though you guys have slashed the limits by a factor of 4 or 5 or even more, and this began immediately after your email on April 24th, in which you announced "more favorable" operating terms and assured us that users on the highest-tier Pro plan would not be affected in any way. You certainly have an interesting approach to customer relations; I now see absolutely no point in continuing to pay for the top-tier subscription if the weekly limits, which I previously could never manage to exhaust even halfway, no matter how actively I used the model-now last me only one or two days.

Some serious BS with limits. 2 days ago had a limit , about 70% until 19th, Yesterday had limit reset to 100% until 20th , or 21st, today it's until 24th at 51% only. At this point it seems random to me.
I look at it as a positive and due to this happening I just keep using it up and don't hold it back. Mine has reset twice in less than 7 days so I guess I can't complain since I was less than 50% both times and one I was out. So that maths as being good, right?
