My setup:

  • ChatGPT Teachers workspace
  • I am the workspace owner and the only member
  • Codex Local is enabled
  • Codex Cloud is enabled
  • GitHub App is enabled
  • Git is installed on Windows
  • Codex CLI login with ChatGPT works successfully
  • Web Codex works
  • Windows Codex app still shows the Plus upgrade message and refuses to run tasks

What I already tried:

  • reinstalled the Codex app
  • created a new local project folder
  • enabled all Codex permissions in workspace settings
  • installed Git and verified local setup
  • confirmed CLI works with the same account

Expected behavior:
Windows Codex app should allow tasks to run in the same workspace/account where Codex CLI and Web Codex already work.

Actual behavior:
The Windows Codex app shows an “upgrade to Plus” message and blocks task execution.

This looks like a Windows Codex app issue specific to my Teachers workspace, not a missing subscription entitlement.
Please investigate the app/session entitlement or workspace detection.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Uploaded thread: 0191. Open Codex app on Windows

  1. Sign in with the Teachers workspace account
  2. Open or create a local project
  3. Try to run any task
  4. The app shows “upgrade to Plus” and does not execute the taskd5fc1-fcbe-7723-b1d6-cf52117c973f

What is the expected behavior?

The Windows Codex app should run tasks normally in the same Teachers workspace where Codex CLI and Web Codex already work.

Additional information

CLI works and Web Codex works with the same account. Only the Windows Codex app is affected.
