Add a way to revert Codex-generated changes

Resolved 💬 2 comments Opened Apr 13, 2026 by ngdream Closed Apr 13, 2026

What variant of Codex are you using?

CLI

What feature would you like to see?

It would be very valuable to add a feature that allows users to easily revert changes made by Codex.

One of the main reasons I still generally use OpenCode is that it gives me more control and makes it easier to go back after automated modifications. When an AI tool edits multiple files, being able to quickly revert those changes is extremely important for confidence, safety, and workflow efficiency.

Adding a built-in revert option for Codex-generated edits would make experimentation much safer and improve the overall developer experience. It would also help users feel more comfortable letting Codex make broader changes, knowing they can easily roll everything back if needed.

Additional information

please do it , for god love
