Local app switches to a different workspace when replying to a synced codex cloud conversation

What issue are you seeing?

When I reply to a synced code audit conversation (originated from the codex cloud version for a specific github repository), the subsequent dialogue (the new reply and its response) is unexpectedly switched to a different workspace
ps: there are no explicit error messages when this happens!

What steps can reproduce the bug?

1. Initiate a (code audit) conversation for a repository on the codex cloud
2. Open this synced conversation in the app (in the correct workspace)
3. Type and send a reply to this conversation in the app
4. The subsequent dialogue is moved to an unrelated workspace

What is the expected behavior?
