UI bug - elements (like terminal icon, Editor icon) missing

What issue are you seeing?

In _some_ threads, parts of the UI are missing, like the Open in Editor button or the Terminal button. The CMD+J shortcut still works to summon the terminal.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

I don't know - I just opened a new folder and there it was, it's different than all others I open in the same way.
