Add Meeting recorder

What variant of Codex are you using?

App

What feature would you like to see?

It would be very useful to have a meeting recording feature in Codex, similar to the one available in the ChatGPT app.

This could be especially helpful during coding discussions, code reviews, or technical meetings. Being able to record and keep track of what was discussed would make it much easier to come back afterward and implement the agreed changes accurately.

The previous ChatGPT macOS app has been replaced by the new Codex desktop app. As a result, users can no longer fall back to the former app to access ChatGPT Record. The migration therefore removes an existing ChatGPT Plus feature without providing an alternative in the new app.

This appears to be a regression introduced during the transition from the previous ChatGPT desktop app to the new unified ChatGPT/Codex app.

I would also like to be able to talk to ChatGPT as it is recording the meeting.

For example, if I address ChatGPT directly:
"Hey Chat, could you create a task and start working on the prototype that Joe just described."

The model is capable of it, as demonstrated in the release video.

This is probably already possible with the current Voice Chat, with a couple of workarounds:

  • pipe system audio + microphone audio to Voice Chat
  • mute Voice Chat’s output to prevent an audio feedback loop

It would be awesome to have this built in.
