Feedback icons (thumbs up/down) do not show a clear selected state in Codex App

When giving feedback on a specific response in the Codex App by clicking the thumbs-up or thumbs-down icon, the selected state of the icon is not visually obvious enough. It is difficult to tell whether the feedback has actually been submitted.

This creates uncertainty during the interaction, because after clicking the icon, the visual change is too subtle to clearly communicate the “selected/submitted” state.

For comparison, the ChatGPT web version handles this much better: after clicking 👍/👎, the corresponding icon changes from an outlined style to a filled style, which makes the state change immediately clear. I think this is a good interaction pattern and would be helpful in the Codex App as well.

There is no error message shown. This is a UI/UX feedback issue rather than a crash or functional failure.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Open the Codex App.
Open any conversation that contains at least one assistant response.
Hover over or reveal the feedback controls for that response.
Click the thumbs-up or thumbs-down icon.
Observe the icon state after clicking.

Result:

The selected state is not visually distinct enough.
It is hard to confirm whether the feedback was successfully registered.
This may cause hesitation or repeated clicking.

Notes:

Reproduces consistently in normal conversation usage.
No code snippet is applicable here, since this is a UI interaction issue.

What is the expected behavior?

After clicking the thumbs-up or thumbs-down icon, the selected state should be clearly distinguishable from the unselected state.

A better behavior would be something similar to the ChatGPT web version, where the icon changes from an outlined style to a filled style after selection. Any similarly obvious visual treatment would also help, such as:

stronger contrast
filled icon state
clearer highlight
more noticeable state transition

The goal is for users to be able to immediately confirm that their feedback has been submitted.

This issue does not block usage, but it affects interaction clarity and confidence.

Because the selected state is not prominent enough, users may:

feel unsure whether the click worked
click multiple times unnecessarily
have a less reliable sense of completion for the feedback action

I suggest aligning the Codex App feedback icon behavior more closely with the clearer interaction pattern already used in the ChatGPT web interface.
