Codex Web still shows "Upgrade to Pro" in Rate limits menu for an already-Pro account

What version of Codex is running?

Web version (account menu / rate limits popover in Codex Web)

What subscription do you have?

ChatGPT Pro

Which model were you using?

N/A — this appears to be a Codex Web account/usage UI issue, not a model-specific generation issue.

What platform is your computer?

macOS 10.15.7, Safari 26.4

What issue are you seeing?

In Codex Web, the account menu's Rate limits remaining section still shows an "Upgrade to Pro" button even though the account is already on ChatGPT Pro.

At the same time, the UI also shows remaining quota values (for example, in my case the menu showed both a 5-hour remaining percentage and a weekly remaining percentage), which makes it look like the account is recognized for usage tracking but not for plan-specific upsell state.

This is confusing and misleading because:

  • the account is already on Pro
  • the CTA implies the current account is not Pro
  • the wording does not explain whether it actually means something else (for example a higher tier, extra credits, or a generic pricing page)

If the button is intentional, the copy is misleading for current Pro users. If it is not intentional, then the plan detection / UI state is wrong.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. Sign in to ChatGPT with an active Pro subscription.
  2. Open Codex Web.
  3. Open the account/profile menu.
  4. Expand Rate limits remaining.
  5. Observe that the menu still shows "Upgrade to Pro" even though the account is already Pro.

What is the expected behavior?

For an account that is already on Pro, the UI should not show "Upgrade to Pro".

Instead, one of the following should happen:

  • hide the CTA entirely for existing Pro users, or
  • replace it with accurate wording such as "Manage plan", "View pricing", or "Buy more credits" if that is what the destination actually does.

The current wording suggests the account is not on Pro, which is misleading.

Additional information

  • This appears to be separate from actual quota exhaustion. The issue is the incorrect / misleading upsell CTA shown in the rate-limits UI.
  • I have a screenshot showing the menu with remaining percentages and the "Upgrade to Pro" button visible together.
