Model selector broken on new chat

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.422.20832 (2025)

What subscription do you have?

Codex Pro

What platform is your computer?

Darwin 25.4.0 arm64 arm

What issue are you seeing?

I cannot change the model or reasoning for a new chat (regardless if it's a project chat, or the new chat feature), the selector does not change

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Press the button to start a new chat, and click to select a new model or change the reasoning

What is the expected behavior?

That the model or reasoning I pick is applied to the chat
