App just gets stuck here without opening.

Install new codex for macOS and open the app

I have the same issue, codex app is in some sort of an update loop, its trying to download something from the internet and then restarts
i think the latest version that works is 26.417.41555

but it autoupdates to the broken version
so, dont close the windows or it will break
Same issue here on Windows, latest version. It gets stuck on the loading screen and never opens, and CPU usage shoots up. I didn’t change anything on my side, just started happening today.
I also encountered the same problem and finally solved it with a temporary solution.
You can delete the auth.json file in the .codex folder, then log in to codex again. It will freeze for a while, but wait a moment and it will work normally.
Same issue on arm64 macOS, temporary solved by following @SaltedFish555
hmm, doesnt work for me, it just downloads about 1gb of something and then restarts
