Option+Backspace word deletion is very slow

Option+Backspace still deletes by word for me, but the deletion has become noticeably slow. It used to feel immediate, and other apps on the same machine still erase words quickly, so this feels like a Codex CLI regression rather than a shortcut-mapping issue.

I’m on OpenAI Codex v0.121.0 on macOS 26.5 (arm64). I don’t know exactly which release introduced it, but in recent updates word-by-word erasing with Option+Backspace started feeling delayed and sluggish even though the deletion itself still works.
