What subscription do you have?

What platform is your computer?

_macbook pro 2019 macOS 15.7.4

What issue are you seeing?

Device: 2019 Intel MacBook Pro, Intel CPU
Codex Desktop: latest version, freshly reinstalled
Browser Use plugin: restarted/reinstalled

Problems:

  1. Browser Use in-app browser cannot navigate to any external URL.
  1. Local file:// HTML page renders correctly.
  2. Plugin management UI/search overlay has severe blur/rendering artifacts.
  3. Launching Codex with Chromium GPU flags does not help:
  • --disable-gpu
  • --disable-gpu-compositing
  • --disable-accelerated-2d-canvas
  • --disable-software-rasterizer
  • --disable-features=CanvasOopRasterization,VizDisplayCompositor,UseSkiaRenderer
  • --use-angle=swiftshader
  1. Some flag combinations cause the Dock icon to bounce indefinitely and require force quit.

Tried:

  • Reinstalled latest app
  • Restarted Browser Use plugin
  • Checked VPN/proxy/firewall basics
  • Enabled Reduce Transparency in macOS Accessibility
  • Tried disabling GPU/Chromium rendering flags

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Use a 2019 Intel MacBook Pro with Intel CPU.
  2. Install the latest Codex Desktop app.
  3. Enable or restart the Browser Use plugin.
  4. Open Codex Desktop.
  5. Open the in-app browser / Browser Use session.
  6. Try navigating to an external URL, for example:
  1. Observe that navigation fails. The browser remains on about:blank and the tool reports:

nodeRepl.fetch request failed

  1. As a control test, open a local file:// HTML page in the same in-app browser.
  2. Observe that the local file:// page renders correctly.
  3. Open the plugin management page and use the plugin search UI.
  4. Observe severe blur/rendering artifacts in the search overlay / plugin list area.
  5. The issue persists after reinstalling Codex Desktop, restarting the Browser Use plugin, enabling macOS Reduce Transparency, and launching Codex with GPU-disabling Chromium flags.

What is the expected behavior?
