If I type a prompt and want to copy it to paste elsewhere (such as into the ChatGPT app), or if I go through my prompt history to copy a previous one, the text has ▌ bars. Please either get rid of these or detect text selection and pull them out.

Could you share a bit more details such as codex --version and your operating system? For me, codex-cli 0.20.0 + macOS does not have the issue.

Just reproduced the bug with iTerm2 3.5.12 (maybe iTerm2 is the issue), macOS

Codex 0.21.0

This is a limitation to the terminal interface/design choices, unfortunately. An alternative would be to use the IDE extension, it has better support for copy/paste.

I use Xcode, hope you bring it there someday

Would help to simply remove the bars to the left of the user prompt, but I understand aesthetic need...

Other TUIs I've used have the ability to capture the mouse selection and provide an alternative for selection and copy but I don't know how this works
