What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.429.61741

What subscription do you have?

Plus

What platform is your computer?

Windows 11 x64

What issue are you seeing?

In the Codex desktop app, the Progress panel opens automatically when the mouse moves near the bottom-right/right-side area of the chat. This overlaps the page scrollbar area and makes it difficult or impossible to grab and drag the scrollbar thumb.

This is inconvenient in long chat threads because mouse-wheel scrolling is much slower when trying to jump to a specific middle section of the conversation.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. Open a long Codex chat thread.
  2. Move the mouse to the right side of the chat, near the vertical scrollbar.
  3. Try to drag the scrollbar thumb up or down.
  4. The Progress panel appears automatically and covers/interferes with the scrollbar area.
  5. Dragging the scrollbar is no longer usable.

What is the expected behavior?

The user should be able to drag the chat scrollbar without the Progress panel opening or blocking it.
