What issue are you seeing?

Problem:
Codex repeatedly fails with reconnect loops and never completes the response.

Observed messages:

Reconnecting... 1/5
Reconnecting... 5/5
stream disconnected before completion
error sending request for url (https://chatgpt.com/backend-api/codex/responses)

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Just send a prompt

What is the expected behavior?

Happens even in completely new conversations
Happens with relatively small prompts
Renaming/removing AGENTS.md did not solve it
Internet connection remains stable
Reproducible consistently

Additional information

Codex should either recover the stream or fail gracefully instead of looping indefinitely.

This is likely a network connectivity issue. Check for VPN, proxy, or firewall issues. If you're on a corporate network, work with your IT team to diagnose.

same question，my subscribe is pro and last codexapp seem decline during the prompt and it shows stream disconnected before completion: Transport error: network error: error decoding response body

Same here - I have this issue constantly. I got this evidence during a troubleshooting session with Codex:
Evidence:

67 identical disconnects in seven days.
33 today, including 9 in this task.
Many failed after tokens had already arrived.
During actual Codex disconnects:Router: 100/100 packets, 0% loss.
Internet: 100/100 packets, 0% loss.
Long HTTPS stream: completed after 94.7 seconds.
Persistent Google HTTP/2: 90/90 requests.
Persistent chatgpt.com HTTP/2: 90/90 requests over one IPv6 connection.
Only https://chatgpt.com/backend-api/codex/responses repeatedly fails.
Installed ChatGPT/Codex build: 26.721.4979.0.
The desktop logs also contain 164 separate file-watch errors.

The diagnostics claimed to rule out network connectivity issues. Really hoping for a resolution on this - it makes my job so much more difficult to do.
