Codex Desktop app for macOS crashes/exits on Mouse Right-Click in Upper Left Content Area

What issue are you seeing?
Right-clicking the mouse in the upper left corner of the main content area for a new empty chat immediately crashes and exits the macOS Desktop application. A screenshot showing the general area is attached.
edit/update: correction - right-clicking anywhere crashes and exits the desktop app.
What steps can reproduce the bug?

Right-clicking the mouse in this area for a new empty chat immediately crashes and exits the macOS Desktop application.
Note that for conversations that have a name/title this area normally contains that name as part of a drop-list menu control.
What is the expected behavior?
right clicking would possibly show a context menu or do nothing at all

Updated to version 26.519.81530 on May 27, 2026.
Right-clicking in the area no longer crashes the application.
The following (inconsistent) behaviors are now observed:
Right-clicking in the area now displays a "Bottom Panel" setting with a checkbox for enabling/disabling:

NOTE: Right-clicking in the area displays a "Bottom Panel" setting only if the sidebar is toggled to be expanded / visible. If the sidebar is collapsed/hidden then right-clicking in the discussed areas does nothing. Note that the "Bottom Panel" setting is then only displayed if the user right-clicks in the title area of the application window.
The behavior has changed for the better. That being said; The area that responds to a right-click and then displays the "Bottom Panel" control is not intuitive, comes across as nondeterministic, and seems to be unintentional (bug) resulting in an awkward UX.
If the new changes in behavior are now working as designed then I will close this issue as resolved.
The original issue has been resolved. Will open separate issues if needed over time. Thanks all.
