Bug report: Codex Windows desktop app composer disappears at 150% display scaling
What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?
Codex Windows desktop app version: 26.513.3673.0
What subscription do you have?
plus
What platform is your computer?
Windows 11 Home, version 25H2 OS build: 26200.8457
What issue are you seeing?
Environment:
- Codex Windows desktop app
- Windows display scaling 125%: composer/input box is visible
- Windows display scaling 150%: after the first assistant response, the composer/input box disappears
What steps can reproduce the bug?
Repro steps:
- Set Windows display scaling to 150%
- Open Codex desktop app
- Start a new thread
- Send a short message
- After Codex replies, the composer/input box disappears and I cannot continue the conversation
Expected result:
- The composer/input box remains visible after the assistant response
Actual result:
- The composer/input box disappears after the first assistant response at 150% Windows display scaling
Workaround:
- Changing Windows display scaling back to 125% makes the composer/input box appear again
Tried already:
- Restarting Codex
- Creating new threads/windows
- Terminating, repairing, and resetting from Windows Installed Apps
- Ending all Codex processes from Task Manager
What is the expected behavior?
At 150% Windows display scaling, after the assistant sends a response, the composer/input box should remain visible at the bottom of the window so the user can continue the conversation.
Additional information
This appears to be related to Windows display scaling. The issue happens at 150% scaling, but the composer becomes visible again after changing Windows display scaling back to 125%.
I tried restarting Codex, creating new threads/windows, terminating all Codex processes from Task Manager, and repairing/resetting the app from Windows Installed Apps, but the issue persisted at 150% scaling.
