What issue are you seeing?

Codex Desktop on Windows crashes when reopening a local thread.

Symptoms:

  • Thread title: "Разделить блокировку и меню стеллажа"
  • App shows error boundary: "Упс, произошла ошибка"
  • Retry opens the same error screen
  • Other recent GitHub issues suggest this may be related to broken session replay, orphan task events, or Windows paths in transcript/git directives.

Expected:
Thread should reopen or show a recoverable transcript error.

Actual:
Conversation view crashes and becomes unusable.

Environment:

  • Windows
  • Codex Desktop
  • After latest update

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Open Codex Desktop on Windows and try to reopen an existing local session/thread.

Affected thread title:
"Разделить блокировку и меню стеллажа"

Instead of loading the conversation transcript, the app shows an error boundary:
"Упс, произошла ошибка" / "Oops, an error occurred".

Clicking "Try again" shows the same error again, so the thread cannot be reopened.

Expected:
The local session should reopen and display the transcript normally.

Actual:
The conversation renderer crashes/fails and the thread becomes unusable.

I do not have a minimal code snippet because the crash happens inside Codex Desktop while rendering/restoring the saved session, before any project code runs.

Session ID: not available from UI.
Token usage: unknown.
Context window usage: unknown.
OS: Windows.
Codex Desktop version: unknown / latest update.

What is the expected behavior?
