What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

What platform is your computer?

What issue are you seeing?

I am unable to see remote Codex threads in the Android ChatGPT mobile app that should connect to / sync with the Codex app running on my Mac.

The macOS Codex app has active local Codex threads and local task/environment state. However, when I open Codex from the Android ChatGPT app using the same account, the remote threads from my Mac are not visible.

Observed behavior:

  • Mac Codex app has active/local Codex threads.
  • Android ChatGPT app is signed into the same account.
  • Android ChatGPT app does not show the remote Mac Codex threads.
  • I am unable to continue or connect to Mac Codex app threads from Android.
  • Restarting the Android app and macOS Codex app did not resolve it.
  • Signing out and signing back in did not resolve it.
  • Uninstalling/reinstalling did not resolve it.
  • No VPN is involved.
  • This appears related to remote/cloud session/thread discovery or sync between the macOS Codex app and the Android ChatGPT app.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

  1. On macOS, open the Codex app.
  2. Confirm the Mac Codex app is signed in with the same ChatGPT account used on Android.
  3. Open an existing Codex thread or create a new Codex thread in a local project.
  4. Leave the Mac online and keep the Codex app running.
  5. On Android, open the ChatGPT app.
  6. Confirm the Android ChatGPT app is signed into the same account.
  7. Open Codex from the Android ChatGPT app.
  8. Try to view or connect to remote Codex threads from the Mac.
  9. The Mac Codex threads do not appear in the Android app.

Repro frequency: 100%

Troubleshooting already tried:

Restarted Android ChatGPT app: yes
Restarted macOS Codex app: yes
Signed out/in on Android ChatGPT app: yes
Signed out/in on macOS Codex app: yes
Uninstalled/reinstalled app: yes
VPN/proxy: no VPN
Same account on Mac and Android: yes
ChatGPT Android app updated: yes
macOS Codex app updated: yes, latest app
Confirmed local Codex app data exists on Mac: yes

What is the expected behavior?

The Android ChatGPT app should show remote Codex threads from the macOS Codex app when both apps are signed into the same account and both apps are updated.

Expected behavior:

  • Android ChatGPT app should show active Mac Codex threads.
  • I should be able to open a Mac-backed Codex thread from Android.
  • I should be able to continue or review the Codex thread from mobile.
  • Thread/session state should sync or be discoverable across macOS Codex app and Android ChatGPT app.
